Before & After: New Patio Door Opening in La Grange
Before & After: New Patio Door Opening in La Grange
Transforming a wall into a beautiful new patio door is one of the most dramatic upgrades you can make to a La Grange home. This before-and-after project shows how the patio door opening in La Grange was transformed by Valdicass, turning a dark interior space into a bright, open room with a brand-new Pella patio door.
Before: A Dark, Closed-Off Living Space
The original layout included:
- A solid wall with no exterior access
- Limited natural light
- A room that felt enclosed and disconnected from the backyard
- No views or ventilation
Like many older La Grange homes, the layout didn’t match modern living or outdoor entertainment needs.
The Plan: Create a New Structural Opening
Valdicass designed a brand-new patio door opening in La Grange to bring more light and better access to the yard. Our team handled:
- Structural framing
- New header installation
- Exterior cut-in
- Full interior finishing
- Exterior siding/trim blending
- Installation of a new Pella sliding patio door
This was a complete transformation from a closed wall to a functional, beautiful entryway.
During Construction
Our certified installers completed:
- Engineering and measurements
- Cutting the new opening
- Installing proper support framing
- Adding moisture protection
- Integrating flashing systems
- Blending interior drywall and trim
- Matching exterior siding and finishes
The transformation occurred seamlessly and professionally, with our team ensuring minimal disruption inside the home, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
After: Bright, Open, and Connected to the Outdoors
The new Pella patio door features:
- Smooth gliding operation
- Energy-efficient glass
- Contemporary sightlines
- Slim frames for maximum natural light
- Direct access to the backyard
The once-dark room is now:
- Brighter
- More open
- Better ventilated
- Perfect for gatherings
- Visually connected to the outdoor space
This upgrade dramatically improved the space’s beauty and functionality, giving homeowners a reason to be excited about the potential changes to their home.
